Antique Wardrobe – Victorian Double Mahogany Armoire
This beautiful antique Victorian double mahogany wardrobe armoire ca 1860 has an arched moulded cornice above a deep flamed mahogany frieze, two full length doors with arched moulding and raised, arched panels with beautifully carved motifs. The interior has two hanging rails above three drawers with brass swan neck handles. The piece stands on a plain plinth, some of the moulding is missing from the frieze (not very noticeable) and all the corners are rounded. The wardrobe is a rich medium mahogany colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
